The Mount House Sponsored Walk 2010

The sun shone and over 112 pupils and their friends and families and Mount House Association members, aged 6 to 60, set off from Mount House School in early September. They walked over 10km and climbed over 1200ft from School to Great Mis Tor.
There were hot dogs and other refreshment stops en route and at the finish at Four Winds car park. The walkers were raising money for Dame Hannah Rogers Trust in Ivybridge which provides education, therapy, care and respite for children and young people with profound physical disabilities. The Mount House children with the most sponsors will be taken for a tour of the Dame Hannah School.
The youngest walker to walk the whole route was Rosie, sister of Jonathan in form 2. Other young walkers were form 1 Well done to all of them!

Jo Massey, (Headmaster's wife) who organized the walk, said: "We have been delighted by the response from teachers, children and their families. We have already collected over £1500, and there are more contributions to come.
Thank you to all the walkers and to the Mount House teaching staff for making the event such a success. Thanks also to the Mount House Association for kindly donating the beer and the Dartmoor Rescue team for providing a sweep team for the walkers.
