Committee Meeting Minutes 4th July 2009

 

Minutes of Mount House Association Committee Meeting held on the 4th July 2009 at Mount House School.

 

1. The meeting was attended by Patrick Cashell, Chris Redman, Jon Elworthy, Nicky Toynton, Melanie Redman, Graham Bush, Ella Malcolm, Ella Toynton and Pat Tear. One old boy, Tim Goodwin, also sat in on the meeting.

 

2. Apologies for absence were received from Gavin Grier-Rees, Jonathan Banyard and Suse Hammond.

 

3. The Signing of the Minutes of the Meeting of 2nd May 2009: the Minutes of the last Committee meeting, having been read by the Committee, were signed as a true record. These were proposed by Jon Elworthy and seconded by Melanie Redman.

 

4. Matters arising from the Minutes.

a. Chris Redman confirmed that all the plaques for the benches were in situ and all benches were out in the grounds being used.

b. Retirement gifts: the box containing the CDs for JS has been seen and approved. Chris Redman has sent a note of thanks to the person who constructed the box. A tie and lapel pin will also be presented to Jon Symons and a scarf to Yolande Symons. Sally da Rocha will receive a garden reclining seat at tea time from the MHA. Confirmation of a cheque to the value of £400 has been received from Alastair Thompson in Singapore. It will be presented on the 11th July.

c.The Mount House Association Constitution, which is similar to the Constitution of Wellington School in Somerset, was agreed in principle subject to a few minor alterations. Past pupils and staff who have served at least 5 years will be eligible. Some will be accorded life membership such as Sally da Rocha. The financial year will run from the 1st June until the 31st May.


 

5. Treasurer's Business

a. The Annual accounts, prior to their presentation at the AGM, were inspected and agreed.

b. As many Committee Members as possible were asked to help out on the 4th July. Members were asked to keep stock of ties and scarves and note how many sold by payment or completion of forms. Melanie Redman has all the prices. A bar will be run after tea. It was noted that 25 players had signed up for cricket and 9 for rounders. The Association Day has been promulgated via Facebook.

 

6. Committee Meeting

The date of the next meeting will be 18th July 2009 at the School.
